Land reform and determining the racial breakdown of land ownership

Eddie Mohoebi, spokesperson for the Department of Land Affairs, previously pointed out in an article in the Mail & Guardian that determining land ownership along racial lines is problematic as the Constitution does not allow for any breakdown of land ownership along racial lines. Information or records along racial lines are not available in the Deeds Registry. A racial determination of land ownership by companies is also impossible as shares constantly changes hands.
