According to Atud’s research 16 million people are dependent on the state to live‚ which takes up 32% of the national GDP expenditure. Ten million children are dependent on grant support and 2.5 million elderly people are beneficiaries of old age grants.
This can't be sustainable. It's exacerbated by gross mismanagement and corruption. And all of this is paid for by about 5% of the population.
